A Great Site to Grow Grapes High On A Hill |
| Bryn Mawr Vineyards Oregon pinot noir is an expression of the volcanic soils, the elevations and exposure, vineyard management of canopy and crop level, and the patient processing of the grapes into wine. |
|
Specializing in limited production pinot noir and tempranillo wines, we invite you to taste the difference. At this site in the Eola Hills of the Willamette Valley, the terroir imparts unique flavors and balance in every vintage of wine.
|
| Farming sustainably, sheep graze the vineyards weeding and feeding the vines. Blocks of vines are kept small and native trees act as wind breaks. While the terroir and farming practices are responsible for most flavors in the wine, complementary cellar practices serve to differentiate these unique wines. |
| Bryn Mawr Vineyards is a family run winery. Community is both a neighborhood and an experience for us, a way of life. We operate in a sustainable fashion, environmentally and economically. We see success as a lifestyle that reflects happiness while producing a product from what we grow. This product, this food, this wine: is meant for you to enjoy with meals and frends. Wine is truly the most food friendly and most people friendly alcohol. |
| At Bryn Mawr Vineyards it is our intention that the wines reflect the vintage. Each year is a climatic event. Each site is unique. And having the wines reflect these two variables means to us that we have partnered with nature in a seamless fashion. |
| The wines of Bryn Mawr Vineyards have a face and a story to go with them. Your purchases help to support a family farm and a philosophy of life that is sustainable for the generations to come. In our effort to leave no trace, every wine is meant to be enjoyed. And when the memory of this enjoyable moment is reflected by a smile on your face, we are happy for you, knowing that we have done well. Thank you for your support. |

| We welcome you to visit Saturday or Sunday from 11pm to 5pm. Special events include open house on Memorial and Thanksgiving weekends. Cheeses, breads, meats, bread and crostini are served. Please make an appointment for a time more convenient to you. You can take an internet walk through our site to learn more about our name and how it reflects the excellence that we strive for, how our soil type and our location , or as the french say "teroir", contributes to the quality of our wines. Learn also about our hands on approach to making Pinot Noir wine and about the winemaking. The most extensive page is devoted to pruning, the first and most important stage in the yearly cycle of grape growing. This is a family endeavor begun by David Lloyd-Jones, a lifestyle that is intent on farming sustainably in order that future generations may have the same opportunity. Oregon is a wonderful place and idealy suited for producing some of the finest Pinot Noir in the world. The excellent wines lend themselves to reflection, inspiring the occassional poem |
